The premise and world building are great, but it suffers (badly) from pay to win. It's pretty easy to tell when a player has dumped some money into it because they start steam rolling across the map. I've done it myself, just to see if it would work. Really fun though, and the mechanics are pretty well designed. There are "sped up" games you can join, if pace is an issue for you. Sincerely wish this game had no gold and was a pure strategy game for a single fixed price.

I gave this game 5 stars a couple of years ago, but now it's 3. I love this game. Great features, easy to play, and never spent a dime to win. Unfortunately, whatever update they rolled out caused this game to be absolutely unplayable late game. It will freeze and lag when the graphics become too much. I used to be able to play on high settings. Now it freezes on just low settings. What happened? It didn't always to do this

The game play is nice. It scratches the itch of a nice rts, but it'd be much more enjoyable if it weren't horribly optimized. Sliding across the map causes the game to unselect my army, meaning I have to go back and look for them. Some actions end up canceling, but it doesn't tell me until later. The cities menu randomly unselects the filter I have applied. Bot armies spawn randomly without being produced. This game is incredibly annoying. You're better off playing one of the many games like it.

What's new
In this update we updated the task guidance. It no longer closes related panels when a task is completed. On the combat front, we addressed an issue where armies could halt their attack ticks in the midst of melee combat, leading to unfair advantages. Check our news for more.
