Good concept, but needs more work. It definitely needs more audio examples for the practice section. At the end of the practice it should show what sounds you are good at identifying and then an algorithm should choose sounds to work on the ones that you can't quite distinguish. I haven't had my baby yet, so I can't use the journal section to test it out. For $8USD I was expecting a little more from this app.

Thank you for your feedback. We like the idea of adding an algorithm that detects where a user needs more help in identifying sounds. Also, did you know you can have unlimited practise sessions so that you can continue to refine your ability to detect all 5 sounds? We believe you will find the app is most useful to you once your baby has arrived.

I am giving 3 stars just because of the price. The app is very good, but the 5 sounds can also be found on YouTube in the Oprah videos so it's hard to justify the price. I really enjoy that I can label my baby's cries as this was my original plan before getting a babysitter 🤣 I somewhat feel like this is incomplete as some babies cry for comfort or because they are scared/startled. Would both of these fall under discomfort? 🤷‍♀️

Thank you for your support. We are working on the automated functionality of cry recognition to assist those parents who miss the early softer signals that precede the louder distress cries. We are happy that you gained an initial understanding for free via Oprah and YouTube. Paying for the app assists us to expand the availability of DBL globally.

I downloaded (paid) the app, but keep getting a notification that internet is not connected, which is not true, when trying to sign up. unable to find any way to contact makers for assistance except by submitting a review.
