I-Muwatta Imam Malik ingenye yezincwadi ezinhle zobuSulumane ezibandakanya imibiko eminingi ye-marfoo ’ahaadeeth kanye ne-mawqoof evela eSahaabah, Taabi’een nalabo abeza emva kwabo. Kubandakanya izinqumo eziningi nama-fatwas ombhali.
I-Muwatta Imam Malik ibizwa kanjalo ngoba umbhali wayo wayenza yalula (i-Muwatta Imam Malik) kubantu ngomqondo wokuthi wayenza ifinyeleleke kalula kubo.
Kwabikwa ukuthi u-Imam Maalik wathi: Ngikhombise lencwadi yami kwabangamashumi ayisikhombisa e-fuqaha ’yaseMadeenah, futhi bonke bavumelana nami (waata’ani) kuyo, ngakho-ke ngiyibiza ngokuthi yi-al-Muwatta’.
Isizathu esenza yahlanganiswa: U-Ibn 'Abd al-Barr (kwangathi u-Allaah angamhawukela) wathi ku-al-Istidhkaar (1/168) ukuthi u-Abu Ja'far al-Mansoor wathi ku-Imam Maalik: “O Maalik, yenza incwadi engingabenza balandele, ngoba akekho namuhla onolwazi ngaphezu kwakho. ” U-Imam Maalik usiphendulile isicelo sakhe, kodwa wenqaba ukuphoqa bonke abantu ukuthi basilandele.
UMuwatta Imam Malik wafundela abantu iMuwatta ’iminyaka engamashumi amane, engeza kuyo, ethatha kuyo futhi eyithuthukisa. Ngakho-ke abafundi bakhe bezwa kuye noma bamfundela ngaleso sikhathi. Ngakho-ke imibiko e-al-Muwatta ’miningi futhi iyahlukahluka ngenxa yalokho okwenziwe yi-Imam ukuhlela incwadi yayo. Abanye babafundi bakhe balandisa ngaye ngaphambi kokuba kuhlelwe, abanye ngenkathi kwenziwa, kanti abanye ekugcineni kwempilo yakhe. Izimo u-Imam Malik azilandele encwadini yakhe ziphakathi kwezimo ezinokwethenjelwa futhi eziqine kakhulu. Ulandele indlela yokona ecaleni lokuqapha nokukhetha imibiko yomsindo kuphela. U-Imam Al-Shafi’i (kwangathi u-Allaah angaba nomusa kuye) uthe: Akukho lutho emhlabeni emva kweNcwadi ka-Allah okunembe kakhudlwana ukuthi iMuwatta ’kaMaalik ibn Anas.
Kwabikwa ukuthi u-al-Rabee ’wathi: Ngezwa u-al-Shafi’i ethi: Ukube uMalik wayengaqiniseki nge-hadeeth wayezoyilahla ngokuphelele.
USufyaan ibn ‘Uyaynah uthe: Sengathi u-Allah angaba nomusa kuMalik, ukuthi wayeqine kangakanani ekuhloleni kwakhe amadoda (ababalisi be-hadeeth).

Ngakho-ke uzothola ukuthi ama-isnaads amaningi ka-Imam Malik asezingeni eliphakeme kakhulu le-saheeh. Ngenxa yalokhu, amaShaykhs al-Bukhaari amabili namaSulumane balandisa iningi lama-ahaadeeth akhe ezincwadini zabo.
Ekuhlanganiseni incwadi yakhe, u-Imam Malik walandela indlela yokuhlanganisa eyayivamile ngesikhathi sakhe, ngakho-ke waxuba ama-hadeeth namagama eSahabah naweTaabi’een kanye nemibono ye-fiqhi. Imibiko yeSahabah inombolo 613 kanye nemibiko yeTaabi'een inombolo 285. Esahlukweni esisodwa i-marfoo 'ahaadeeth ivela kuqala, bese ilandelwa yimibiko yeSahaabah neTaabi'een, futhi kwesinye isikhathi ubalula ngezenzo ze abantu baseMadeenah, ngakho-ke incwadi yakhe iyincwadi ye-fiqh ne-hadeeth ngasikhathi sinye, akuyona nje incwadi yemibiko kuphela. Ngakho-ke uzothola ukuthi ezinye izahluko azinayo imibiko, kunalokho ziqukethe imibono ye-fuqaha ’nezenzo kanye ne-ijtihaad yabantu baseMadeenah.
