In the context of the project: "Digital Presentation of the History of 1821 in the Municipality of Aegialia" the development of the present application was carried out, consisting of three digital Augmented Reality educational games
1. Hunt for hidden treasure
It is a game about collecting points through a treasure hunt according to the mission parameters that have been set.
The player will have to go to specific geographical points within the city of Aegis that are in the form of a route.
At each geographical point he must locate the historical point/element assigned to him by the mission.
For each point beyond the detection there is also a mission (solving a puzzle, answering some questions, etc.) that the user should complete in order to proceed to the next mission and the next point.
2. Knowledge game with projection of 3D objects in space
It is a game about viewing 3D folklore and historical objects that are framed with documentary information.
The game can take place in any space and the objects are projected after recognition of the space and on a suitable flat surface.
The user has the ability to interact with the object and receive the relevant information.
The player can then answer questions about each item and collect points according to the scoring system set in each mission.
3. Revival of Historical Personalities - Mayors
Taking advantage of the wonderful exhibition of portrait paintings that is located in the Panagiotopoulos Mansion and presents all the Mayors of the city of Aigio, we have created an application that brings each one of them "to life" again.
By our device recognizing that we are in front of the particular portrait, with the use of the camera and augmented reality technology, each character comes to life and will tell us their short story and their contribution to the place.
