About this game

How to play

The Calcudoku game grid has to be filled in such a way that the specified conditions are met by simple calculations in the four basic arithmetic operations.

As with Sudoku, no number may appear more than once in any row or any column. In addition, there are so-called cages, each of which contains a mathematical operator and a target value. This value corresponds to the result to be achieved by the calculation with the values in the cage.

Every puzzle has a unique solution that can be found without guessing.

Features

• five different grid sizes (from 5x5 to 9x9)
• six levels of difficulty per grid size
• 15,500 unique puzzles in total
• games are automatically saved
• unlimited undo/redo
• a built-in calculator

Origin

Calcudoku was developed by the Japanese teacher Tetsuya Miyamoto for his students to promote the ability of mathematical and logical thinking. The game is also known as MathDoku, Ken-Doku™ and KenKen™.

I'm a fan of the Andoku Sudoku app and I had high expectations of this app as it is from the same author, I wasn't disappointed! Much like the Sudoku app, there's built-in help/hints if you want them, to help teach you how to solve the puzzles. Unlike a lot of app games, there's no random 'chance element' in playing this, it is purely down to your skill to solve the puzzles. Recommended for people who prefer to exercise their brain rather than doing something mindless in their downtime!

Been playing for years. I love how the ads are silent by default in this game so I can play it while I fall asleep with calming music on. The ads are so reasonable too. And the game is great. Some more challenging than others. Only thing I wish they had was a dark view so it doesn't hurt my eyes/sleep as much. I play almost every night while winding down to quiet my mind of all the fuss of the day.

enjoyed all levels and appreciate the ad free first year. Updating this: It's been another year. I still appreciate this app so much. This is the only game app I've found where setting the game settings to mute all sounds also mutes the ads. My nightly routine while putting the kids to bed and putting myself to bed is to play these puzzles while listening to healing hertz on YouTube. Every other game the ads will blare with sound and I can't listen to the calming music. Thank you. So grateful!
