Sadly, the series continues to get worse regarding some features. Clues aren't recorded in the journal anymore, and most puzzles reset if you back out. You can't pick up items until they are triggered as being needed. Touch response was godawful. I almost ragequit the greenhouse door puzzle because it would never move the correct piece. The dialog that lingers forever unless you click the tiny x is annoying and dialog w task info won't repeat.

I really liked the scenery in this one: the forest and waterfalls, the pyramid and castle. The orchestral music is beautiful as well. The puzzles are tricky. I had to spend $ for coins for skips, even with a walkthrough for reference. I enjoy making potions :) One thing that was frustrating was not being able to pick up items initially to put into the inventory until later when they are needed for a task.

This is a real turning point for the series. The details of the graphics are amazing. Even the fibers of Susan's sweater can be seen. The puzzles are challenging enough to offer a good mental workout, but not to the point of frustration. The new style of not being able to pick up every useful item until it is needed is tricky at first, but it gives the game a more realistic feel once one gets used to it. Meeting Kiana was nice, too. She's cute, smart, and has great potential for future games.
