About this app

Mindfulness means noticing and paying attention to what is going on in the present moment, without passing judgment on it. Mindfulness has been shown to be effective for reducing stress, improving emotional balance, increasing self-awareness, helping with anxiety and depression, and coping more effectively with chronic pain.

Mindfulness Coach 2.0 was developed to help Veterans, Service members, and others learn how to practice mindfulness. The app provides a gradual, self-guided training program designed to help you understand and adopt a simple mindfulness practice. Mindfulness Coach also offers a library of information about mindfulness (for example “What is Mindfulness?”, “How to Anchor Your Attention”), 12 audio-guided mindfulness exercises and a growing catalog of additional exercises available for free download, goal-setting and tracking, a mindfulness mastery assessment to help you track your progress over time, customizable reminders, and access to other support and crisis resources. Mindfulness Coach is free, doesn’t take or share any of your personal information, and doesn’t require add-on purchases.

Mindfulness Coach was created by VA’s National Center for PTSD.

Great app, I completely recomend. The guiding, the training set, the types of mediation and the extra resources are superb. The fact that the app is free is a gift for anyone who wants to practice mindfulness. However, there app has a couple of issues. The first one is that in sessions where there are two listenings the second listening doesn't start if the screen is off. The second is that after completing the whole training there aren't different mediation preset routines to follow.

If you're interested in being more present, aware, and calm, this app will help. You'll build on your practice by adding novel tools to your belt. I recommend the iRest program whether you're new to meditation or a seasoned practitioner. One frustration I have is that when I download a programs, it adds all the sessions to the same folder, losing their structure an order. I want to keep the programs' sessions in their appropriate folders so that I can follow them in order.

Best Meditation app ever, and it is really and truly free. No subscriptions, no better features available if you pay, no ads: just help at your fingertips. For my mental well-being I keep this app on every phone I have used for years.
