Mary Jordan is walking along the street when she spots a sign on a lamppost.

If you’re unlucky, that is what you will remain.

Mary is shocked. Her skin crawls at the idea she is being watched. She searches the buildings, looking, perhaps, for a face at a window. She is terrified.
