Blair Babylon’s Bio: "I'm passionate about books and literature. Books delve into what it means to be human and connect us to each other. I write intense, deeply imagined romance novels for serious readers because the world needs more love." ~~Blair Babylon

For fans of J.S. Scott, Ivy Smoak, and Penelope Ward, Blair Babylon is an award-winning, USA Today bestselling author who used to publish literary fiction. Because professional reviews of her other fiction usually included the caveat that there was too many naughty bits and too much interesting plot, she decided to abandon all literary pretensions, let her freak flag fly, and write hot suspenseful romance.

This is the continuation of Cash and Rox’s story. If you haven’t read Working Stiff then STOP as this must be read first. From the first chapter to the last I couldn’t wait to see what the author had in store for our couple. As in the first book I fell hard and fast for Cash, who is certainly swoon worthy and I loved the friendship between him and Rox. This book was well written, witty, romantic, suspenseful as well as passionate and all in all a great book to read.

The romance payoff is excellent. After the slow-burn buildup in Working Stiff, Cash and Rox's relationship finally ignites. Their dynamic is the heart of the story, and the emotional connection they establish while navigating extreme pressure feels earned and incredibly satisfying. For those who love a billionaire boss or friends-to-lovers trope, the fulfillment here is top-tier. The central corporate suspense plot—digging into the law firm's corruption—is intriguing, high-stakes, and keeps the narrative moving at a relentless pace. However, the action elements sometimes bordered on excessive. While the thrilling nature of the plot is appreciated, the introduction of extreme, high-octane threats occasionally felt like it was pushing the boundaries of the story's initial scope. It’s a minor note, but there were moments where the sheer magnitude of the danger felt a little over the top compared to the grounded nature of the corporate conspiracy.
