Miric is a human spy who has been living in the Renon empire and descovered the secret to their power. A species of tiny creatures whose shell makes those who injest it stronger, smarter and healthier.

Knowing this is the key to saving his people he steals one of the creatures, but now he has to escape the Renon empire with the creatures.
