About this audiobook

"An exciting fantasy adventure series involving quokkas, a speedy stingray and other animals" -The West Australian Newspaper

The whole family will enjoy the spirited narration of Aimee Horne (the voice of Cotton-Tail in the hit movie Peter Rabbit 2) as she brings Clancy the Quokka and his friends to life in this epic Christmas adventure.

Can the Quokkas save Christmas?

When Santa crashes his sleigh on Christmas Eve, some of his presents are scattered along a beach. It's up to Clancy and Cobba, a couple of local quokkas, to find the owners of the presents and deliver them before Christmas morning. A challenging task is made even more difficult when other inhabitants of Rottnest Island find out about the quest, and are keen to get their hands on the gifts.

★★★★★ "I've used the Rotto! books in my classroom as book studies for literacy units of work. I highly recommend these books as they are quality literature that our students need to be exposed to. The texts are easy enough for children to read but with teacher scaffolding the plot and character details can really be explored. My students have loved these books and they have been a valuable inclusion in my literacy program." -Alana Di Labio, Year 3 Teacher, Noranda Primary School.

★★★★★ "Adventurous page-turner!! Very strong 5 stars"-DisneyDenizen

★★★★★ "Years 1-4 have all enjoyed reading the adventures of Clancy the Quokka! The stories are great little chapter books full of excitement and fun characters! There's a fantastic message about caring for animals and the environment. My students loved it."" -Sasha Cattapan, Library Teacher, John XXIII College.

Wallabies Help Santa — eBook & Audiobook Review — This is a delightfully fun children's Christmas story taking place on an Australian island. In case you don't know what a quokka is, it is a small wallaby about the size of a house cat. In this story, two quokkas living on the island not only get to meet Santa on his yearly trek to give out presents, but they also have to help him because he accidentally left a few presents behind, undelivered to their destinations. The two main-character quokkas have to figure out how to get these presents to the right kids… and it certainly is not easy! They even run into a set of villainous quokkas who definitely try to thwart them. The book has a few more scatological references to the things that happen at the far end of the gastrointestinal system than I like to see in a book like this, but kids do appreciate that kind of humor. The book is certainly funny, and not just from that. I received both the eBook and audiobook versions of the story, and I found the audiobook version extremely well done. The narrator is incredibly talented, able to voice all the characters distinctly and was even able to give the villainous quokkas distinctly different and evil-sounding voices. I was not as wild about the eBook version because it was simply text. I am not sure what the age range of this book is supposed to be, but it certainly would have been better with a few illustrations scattered throughout. It had none within the main text. (I hope the published version is different, as I did receive an ARC copy.) Still, this was certainly a fun and funny Christmas read and listen. -- 4 stars for the eBook; 5 stars for the audiobook. -- I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
