This term is used for a lot of forms, some Russian fairy tales do not include anything magical and tell a tale of everyday life, the other, however, are rather ballads. Russian fairy tales can be prosaic and in verse, be made up by the folk or by some authors. The Turnip is a tale of a family trying to pull a turnip out. In the beginning they can’t do it, for the turnip is enormously big, with time, however, they get more and more helpers of a quite unusual kind. Will they finally do it?
