About this audiobook

In How to Plot a Payback, bestselling author Melissa Ferguson shines a spotlight on a screenwriter who just landed his dream job and the star of the show who just happens to be his arch nemesis. In this enemies-to-lovers rom-com, real life proves to be just as dramatic as on screen, perfect for fans of The Hating Game and The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren.

"The perfect escape for lovers of dogs, second chances and swoon-worthy romance. Don't miss this one." --Annabel Monaghan, bestselling author of Same Time Next Summer

He crossed an ocean, and it still wasn't enough to escape his lifelong nemesis. Now he has to work with her.

Successful screenwriter Finn Masters just landed his dream job writing for Neighbors, one of Hollywood's highest-rated, longest-running sitcoms. The only downside? It will put him back in proximity of the show’s universally adored, optimistic, altruistic star, Lavender Rhodes, who has been inadvertently ruining his life since they were school chums in England. But she doesn't even know she destroyed his acting career and wrecked his relationship with the love of his life.

He's not about to let this woman yank yet another dream out from under his feet. In fact, he realizes he's been given the ideal opportunity to plot his payback: spinning her character in shocking new directions. What could go wrong? Only everything. As Finn's not-so-brilliant plot backfires one scene after the next, catching him in the blasts, he's forced to think about this impossible, infuriating . . . and maybe even lovable woman in an entirely new light.

With everything readers have come to admire about Melissa Ferguson's style, humor, heart, and sizzling chemistry (but no explicit content), How to Plot a Payback is a must-read for rom-com fans, especially those looking for enemies-to-lovers with a twist. In all fairness, I have to say that the narration was amazing. Not only were they both extremely talented but they also happened to have accents that I could listen to read the telephone book and I would most likely enjoy it. They’re talented enough to make it funny too. Now for the book. Honestly, despite my love for the narration, I believe this book would have worked better for me if I had actually read it. Overall, I enjoyed it and recommend it.

What a funny and unique story Melissa Ferguson has crafted in How to Plot a Payback! Ferguson is a new author to me and I will definitely be looking for more from them. I really enjoyed getting this story from both the main characters' point of view. The back and forth is amusing, and to see the way Finn changes as the tale evolves is beautifully constructed.
