About the author

Paul McCarthy is an award-winning sports journalist and writer. He has worked at the News of the World, the Daily Express, where he was Chief Football Writer., People, where he held the post of Chief Sports Columnist. In 2007 he returned to the News of the World as Sports Editor.

Paul held the post of Chairman of the Football Writers' Association for three years and was named Sports Journalist of the Year.

Paul was given his own slot on Sky Sports News, 'Macca on Monday'. He has contributed to football and sports documentaries as well as regularly contributing to coverage on Sky Sports and the BBC.

Paul now runs a successful PR and Consultancy company, Macca Media.
