The United States of America is filled with honest, hardworking people. Many of us have worked tirelessly for everything we have, and some have even held two jobs daily just to make ends meet. It is these diligent individuals who truly deserve recognition—whether in the form of a monetary bonus, assistance, or a promotion. However, there are also those who manage to exploit loopholes in the so-called “system.” By loopholes, I mean ways to cheat or cut corners to get by in their workplace. Despite their lack of genuine effort, favoritism, rumors, or political maneuvering can allow these individuals to slip through the cracks. A striking example of this type of “credential faking” has recently emerged in incidents involving Walmart Stores, Inc. and several other corporate entities. These cases highlight how some individuals bypass the standards that hardworking employees strive to meet. For context, I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, as well as an Associate Degree in Business Management Technology, which has given me both the knowledge and perspective to observe these discrepancies firsthand.
