Wells (1866–1946) was a British writer, journalist, and public intellectual best known for his pioneering works of science fiction, including The War of the Worlds, The Time Machine, and The Invisible Man. Often referred to as the “father of science fiction,” Wells used imaginative tales to explore complex social and scientific ideas, such as time travel, alien invasion, and the limits of scientific progress.
