Andando ad Astana e sorvolando la steppa russa, i suoi laghi di sale, la sua terra piatta e deserta, le carcasse pietrificate di alberi contorti, abbiamo sentito la mancanza di un fiore che si apra nel cuore di questa città, per colmare tale assenza. The project represents what the place lacks, its possible completion. Going to Astana and flying over the Russian steppe, its salt lakes, its flat and deserted land, its petrified carcasses of crabbed trees, we noticed the lack of a flower that opens in the heart of this city, and decided to fill this absence. Летя в Астану и пролетая над русской степью, над ее солеными озерами, ее плоской и пустынной землей, окаменелыми остовами скрученных деревьев, мы почувствовали нехватку цветка, который бы распустился в сердце этого города, восполнив собой недостаток. Ha collaborato con Walter Gropius, Minorou Yamasaki e P.L. Nervi. Manfredi Nicoletti è un pioniere della progettazione bioclimatica e megastrutturale, urbana e architettonica. Esperto in ecologia urbana per il Governo Italiano e la Comunità Europea è membro dell’Istituto Italiano per l’Architettura bioclimatica (ENEA), dell’EUROSOLAR, del PLEA (Passive and Low Energy Association), ha vinto il premio internazionaleWren (Word Renewable Energy Network). Ha fondato con Luca Nicoletti nel 2005 lo STUDIO NICOLETTI ASSOCIATI SNA. Luca F. Nicoletti, Partner e co-fondatore dello STUDIO NICOLETTI ASSOCIATI SNA, laurea con lode presso l’Università di Roma Sapienza. Collabora con Manfredi Nicoletti dal 1994 è iscritto all’Ordine degli Architetti, Pianificatori e Paesaggisti di Roma e Provincia dal 2004. È Visiting Professor presso il Docomomo International Institute di Londra, la Ajman University of Science and Technology, UAE, le Università di Roma Sapienza e Roma Tre. È Presidente dello Young Branch of the International Academy of Architecture. Per lo STUDIO NICOLETTI ASSOCIATI SNA è coautore con Manfredi Nicoletti di diversi progetti vincitori di concorsi internazionali tra cui il Putrajaya ResidentialWaterfront Development e il PJCC Development a Kuala Lumpur (Cityscape Dubai award 2008, Cityscape Asia award 2009 e Cityscape Dubai award 2010) e il Nigeria National Complex, tutti attualmente in costruzione.
