Songshoptok is a collection of Modern Bengali verse that speaks a lot for a generation of decadence and frustration. Etymologically the word “Songshoptok” means warriors who never return being defeated. These poems in this collection are fiery words of everyday struggles of all commoners whom we come across time and again. Each and every poet has attempted to be positive even if the surroundings around him are utterly detrimental for a sound and rational living. And the wordsmiths have created a niche of their own devising a habitable magic world making a path for others showing how to be adapted in a world of constant change and fluxes.
