About this ebook

A contemporary fantasy/action-adventure graphic novel from Eisner-nominated writer Alex de Campi, and artists Skylar Patridge and Kelly Fitzpatrick.

Two years ago, magic suddenly, violently became a thing again.

Now, Tré Grant is just doing her best to survive sixth grade, which is a little more real than it used to be thanks to the monsters that regularly emerge from the nearby forest to attack her city. But when she discovers a magical artifact that could be the key to lifting the curse on the forest, Tré accidentally becomes the hero the city needs, even if she's not the one it expects.

About the author

Alex de Campi writes graphic novels (the Eisner-nominated noirs Bad Girls and Parasocial; the critically acclaimed pulp horror Dracula, Motherf**ker!, so many more), prose novels (queer medieval romance/thriller The Scottish Boy; paranormal thriller Heartbreak Incorporated), and film and TV (Blade Runner: Black Lotus; Scavengers Reign). Recently she and director Duncan Jones collaborated on the sci-fi thriller Madi: Once Upon A Time in the Future, and she and writer-editor Khai Krumbhaar produced True War Stories, an anthology of soldiers’ deployment tales. Alex also has action-buddy comedy Bad Karma out recently from Image Comics. She once snuck across the Russian border, and later she explored the mountains of North Vietnam in a jeep armed only with a cassette tape of Boney M’s greatest hits. At present she resides in the northeast US with her daughter, a pit bull named Bruce, and a pair of cats.
