Machiavelli is better known as the author of Il Principe (The Prince): the ultimate manual of power. Often referenced as the father of political science, he turned to writing after pushed in exile in his farm in San Casciano when Piero De Medici, grandson of Lorenzo Il Magnifico, was restored to power in Florence.
