கிருஷ்ணர் ஒரு யாதவ அரசர். அர்ஜுனனும் ஓர் சத்திரியன். அதனால் கீதை ஏதோ ஒரு மன்னன் இன்னொரு மன்னனுக்குக் கொலை செய் என்று சொல்லுகிற மேலோட்டமாக பார்க்கும் நூல் அல்ல. நால்வகை வருணத்தவர்க்கும் அவர்களின் தர்மப்படி இயங்க அறிவுறுத்தும் அறிவுரையை அது தாங்கி நிற்கிறது. இந்த தர்மம் கீதை பிறந்த காலத்தில் ஜாதி வித்தியாசம் என்று கொள்ளப்படவில்லை. தலை முதல் பாதம் வரையில் எல்லா பாகங்களும் சமம் என்ற அடிப்படையில்தான் அவரவர் பிறப்பைச் சொன்னார்கள். பகவான் கிருஷ்ணர் படுத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார். உதவி கேட்கப் போனபோது அர்ஜுனன் கிருஷ்ணரின் காலடியில்தான் நின்றிருந்தான். நமது பாரம்பர்யத்தில் பாதார விந்தம்தான் பெருமைமிக்கது. துரியோதனன் அவருடைய தலைமாட்டில் கர்வமாக உட்கார்ந்தான். எழுந்த கிருஷ்ணர் காலருகே இருந்த அர்ஜுனனைத்தான் முதலில் பார்க்கிறார். “நான் வேண்டுமா, என் படைகள் வேண்டுமா?’ எனக் கேட்கிறார். “நீ மட்டும் என் பக்கம் இரு” என்கிறான் பார்த்தன். அதனால்தான் அவர் பார்த்தசாரதி ஆனார். துரியோதனன் அவர் படைகளைப் பெற்றான்.

ஒருவன் நரன். இன்னொருவன் நாராயணன். இந்த இரண்டு பேரும் குருசேத்ர யுத்தகளத்தில் ஒருசேர இருந்தபோது…….பிறந்ததுதான் இந்த கீதை. அது சாதாரண மானிடருக்கு எவ்வாறு ஞானம் ஊட்டுகிறது எனப் பார்ப்போம்.

About the author

Ananthasairam Rangarajan was born in 1946 in a family of agriculturists and had teaching degrees in Education from University of Madras. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in the teaching of English from Central Institute of English and Foreign Languages, Hyderabad. His career as a teacher in various capacities spread over three decades in many institutions, and Dr. Radhakrishnan Award for Best Teacher was bestowed on him by Tamil Nadu Government in 1997.

Ananthasairam has been writing in Tamil since 1967. Leading Tamil magazines have published his short stories and articles. He has written personal development books and an English novel. He lives in Chennai.
