Jahrhunderts, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser Arbeit sollen die Unterschiede zwischen dem Liberalis-musbegriff in Thomas Hobbes „Leviathan“ und in den Werken von Carl Schmitt dargestellt werden. Um dies zu ermöglichen werden vorher die Kernbegriffe Souveränität und Staat der beiden Autoren erläutert. Anschließend wird dargelegt, dass der Liberalismus bei Carl Schmitt noch stärker kritisiert wird, als es in Hobbes „Leviathan“ der Fall ist. Schmitt ist nicht nur gegen Libera-lismus, sondern fordert auch eine homogene Gesellschaft, in der nötigenfalls jegliche Heterogenität bekämpft wird. Um die angesprochenen Punkte erklären zu können, wurden die relevanten Werke von Carl Schmitt und Thomas Hobbes untersucht. Des Weiteren wurde Sekundärliteratur zur Interpretation herangezogen. Title: „Carl Schmitt’s criticism of liberalism in comparison to Thomas Hobbes’ »Leviathan«” The idea of this excerpt is to point out the differences between the liberalism in Thomas Hobbes’ “Leviathan” and in Carl Schmitt’s writings. In order to do this the central points “sovereignty” and “state” of both of the authors had to be described at first. In the following it is stated that liberalism by Carl Schmitt is criticized much stronger than in “Leviathan” by Thomas Hobbes. Schmitt is not only against liberalism, he also demands total homogeneity in society, and if necessary even to fight against any heterogeneity. To be able to examine all important aspects the relevant publications of Carl Schmitt and Thomas Hobbes have been used. In addition secondary literature has been used for better interpretation.
