Nach dem Abschluss seines Studiums als Gletscherforscher will sich Niklas Bergmeister ein paar Wochen bei seinem Bruder Justus in St. Christoph erholen. Entsetzt stellt er jedoch fest, dass auf dem abgelegenen Einödhof einiges im Argen liegt. Und auch Justus hat sich nicht zu seinem Vorteil verändert. Sein Äußeres wirkt ungepflegt, und er gibt sich mürrisch und wortkarg. Niklas ist klar, dass die Einsamkeit hier oben in den Bergen den Bruder so zermürbt. Und deshalb muss eine Frau auf den Hof! Doch nach zahlreichen abgelehnten Bewerberinnen, die nichts für den Tannenhof taugen, darf schließlich die schöne Hauswirtschafterin Stefanie Wiesner bleiben. Aber statt in Justus verliebt sie sich in Niklas, und so überstürzen sich schon bald auf dramatische Weise die Ereignisse auf dem Tannenhof...
