Mitten in einem heftigen Schneesturm verliert Vanessa in einer engen Kurve die Kontrolle über ihr Auto und rutscht in den Graben. Sie ist zum Glück unverletzt, doch der Wagen bewegt sich keinen Zentimeter.
Schnell wird Vanessa klar, dass sie mit Hilfe in diesem abgelegenen Waldstück wohl nicht rechnen kann. In dieser Nacht ist freiwillig kein Mensch mehr unterwegs. Wenn sie wenigstens wüsste, wie weit es noch bis St. Christoph ist!
Vanessa fürchtet sich in der Dunkelheit, doch wenn sie nicht erfrieren will, muss sie sich auf den Weg machen, in der Hoffnung, bald zu irgendeinem Gehöft zu kommen.
Völlig entkräftet erreicht sie mitten in der Nacht den Wiesenthal-Hof. Aber noch bevor sie an die Tür klopfen kann, packt jemand von hinten ihren Arm ...
