Über dieses E-Book

New York Times Bestseller: In eighteenth-century London, a woman is caught between two brothers—and the success that could cost her everything.
The willful, high-spirited daughter of a schoolmaster, Angela Howard will never forget her first provocative glimpse of Lord Clinton Meredith, the golden heir to magnificent Greystone Hall. But it is Clinton's illegitimate brother, Hugh Bradford, who claims Angie's innocence—and her heart. They share one glorious night before violence and tragedy separate them. Her world is shattered; yet spurred on by her fierce will to survive, Angie moves to London, where she meets the mercurial, sensual playwright James Lambert . . . and a portrait painter named Gainsborough, who vows to turn her into a legend.

But through the years of fame, glory, wealth, and success beyond her wildest dreams, Angie is haunted by the man she loved and lost—a man who won't rest until she is his again.

Winner of the Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Best Book Award, this mesmerizing novel by the bestselling author of Love's Tender Fury brings to life a bygone era, a woman who dares to dream, and the love that is both her weakness and greatest strength. With over 2.5 million copies sold, it's an all-time classic in historical romance.
