About this eBook

The explosive Robert Langdon thriller from Dan Brown, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Da Vinci Code, The Lost Symbol, Inferno, and The Secret of Secrets.

An ancient secret brotherhood. A devastating new weapon of destruction. An unthinkable target. When world-renowned Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to his first assignment to a Swiss research facility to analyze a mysterious symbol—seared into the chest of a murdered physicist—he discovers evidence of the unimaginable: the resurgence of an ancient secret brotherhood known as the Illuminati...the most powerful underground organization ever to walk the earth. The Illuminati has now surfaced to carry out the final phase of its legendary vendetta against its most hated enemy—the Catholic Church.

Langdon’s worst fears are confirmed on the eve of the Vatican’s holy conclave, when a messenger of the Illuminati announces they have hidden an unstoppable time bomb at the very heart of Vatican City. With the countdown under way, Langdon jets to Rome to join forces with Vittoria Vetra, a beautiful and mysterious Italian scientist, to assist the Vatican in a desperate bid for survival.

Embarking on a frantic hunt through sealed crypts, dangerous catacombs, deserted cathedrals, and the most secretive vault on earth, Langdon and Vetra follow a 400-year-old trail of ancient symbols that snakes across Rome toward the long-forgotten Illuminati lair...a clandestine location that contains the only hope for Vatican salvation.

Critics have praised the exhilarating blend of relentless adventure, scholarly intrigue, and cutting wit found in Brown’s remarkable thrillers featuring Robert Langdon. An explosive international suspense, Angels & Demons marks this hero’s first adventure as it careens from enlightening epiphanies to dark truths as the battle between science and religion turns to war.

This Novel is very detailed... Full of Historical, Theological, Religious and Scientific fact that can make us not only thrilled by the story but also learn from details that we possibly don't know, that happens to our world everyday... As a devout Christian and a science believer, this Novel test my knowledge on these kind of topics... one of my most favorite quote from this Novel is "Science and Religion are not at odds. Science is simply too young to understand."... overall I consider this book as highly recommend...🙂🙂🙂

A decent story with ending twists not anticipated. Had to go to wikipedia a lot to get bearings from town names and places not familiar as well as church, art, and artist information. The end was drawn out a bit. Hard to believe the time span was all within a day.

This book has action and mystery, things that I love, but some for some reason it wasn’t great at holding my interest. I think I may have expected too much from the storyline. One thing that I loved was the father by use of science bit at the end. That was a shocker for me.

About the author

Dan Brown is the author of eight #1 bestselling novels, including The Da Vinci Code, which has become one of the bestselling novels of all time. His Robert Langdon thrillers—including The Lost Symbol, Angels & Demons, Inferno, Origin, and his most recent, The Secret of Secrets—have captivated readers worldwide and continue to be the subject of intellectual debate among readers and scholars. Brown’s novels are published in 56 languages around the world with over 250 million copies in print. Brown was named one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World by Time magazine, whose editors credited him with “keeping the publishing industry afloat; renewed interest in Leonardo da Vinci and early Christian history; spiking tourism to Paris and Rome; a growing membership in secret societies; the ire of Cardinals in Rome; eight books denying the claims of the novel and seven guides to read along with it; a flood of historical thrillers; and a major motion picture franchise.” The son of a mathematics teacher and a church organist, Brown was raised on a prep school campus where he developed a fascination with the paradoxical interplay between science and religion. These themes eventually formed the backdrop for his books.
