Sofie heeft een stiekeme relatie met Joost. Hij belooft haar keer op keer dat hij zijn vrouw Charlotte voor haar zal verlaten, maar doet het niet. Dan ontdekt Charlotte zijn affaire. Joost besluit eindelijk te scheiden en vraagt Sofie of ze in de tussentijd even van het toneel wil verdwijnen. Hij weet wel een plek waar ze terechtkan. Vol goede moed vertrekt Sofie naar het Drentse dorp waar Joosts vader een verwaarloosde ijssalon heeft. Sofie ziet in de ijssalon de perfecte afleiding van haar problemen thuis. Er zijn slechts twee obstakels: ten eerste haar totale gebrek aan bedrijfskundig inzicht en ten tweede Charlotte, die ook naar Drenthe komt om wraak te nemen op Sofie.
