About this ebook

Second only to religion, cricket is the most inspirational entity in the Caribbean and the British Commonwealth. And second only to the University of the West Indies, the most integrating factor in the English speaking Caribbean. As a Caribbean experience, it is arguably one of the most shared and relateable. One of the reasons why I wrote this story is because I think that the game has a significant role to play in the future development of the region.

About the author

The cricket field was and still is the geographical and social centre of the neighbourhood where I grew up. From age six to twelve, I often played with my cousins and friends. On Sundays I looked forward to watching the games, first the older players in the parish league and later my own companions who joined the league when they were old enough. Over the years the game of cricket has evolved, and my love of the game has deepened. This love I would like to share with my grandsons. I live in Toronto, Ontario, and St. George’s Grenada.
