About this eBook

The hilarious new stand-alone romantic comedy perfect for any mom who’s tried to have it all.

“I don’t think I have laughed out loud so much at a book while at the same time - felt so emotionally connected to the characters.” -This Book, That Life

On social media, April Davis totally has her life in order. She’s the Calm Mom—a social influencer with a reputation for showing moms how to stay calm and collected through yoga. Ha, as if. Because behind the scenes, April’s barely holding it all together. Her kids aren’t behaving, her husband left her for his skydiving instructor, and her top knot proves she hasn’t showered in days...

Then a live video of the “always chill” April goes viral—and everyone learns that “Calm Mom” is most definitely not. Now a media conglomerate has purchased April’s brand and too-sexy-for-his-own-good Jack Gibson has been sent to clean up April’s viral mess. But toddler tea parties and a dog with a penchant for peeing on his shoes is definitely not part of the deal.

Now April’s calm has disappeared faster than her kids running from vegetables. Worse, the sparks flying between her and Jack have her completely out of her depth. And this Not-So-Calm Mom is going to need a lot more than margaritas to find her way back to herself again.

I want to admit right up front that I am no big fan of social media or influencers, so I don't know much about that side of this book. However, I am a huge fan of romance and I thought this was a good one. Plus, I feel most readers will easily see some parts of themselves in April. I mean we all struggle, our lives are far from perfect, we all feel overwhelmed and most of us just try to pretend we have it all together and show the world what we want them to see and that is what I felt really made up the base of this book. I loved Jack and found April's kids highly entertaining April though was just OK. Maybe that was because I don't get the whole social media thing or not but, honestly, I found her a just a bit unlikable. I did like these two as a couple though. I really liked the dynamic they shared. This story is a slow burn but I felt the chemistry was evident and the sparks flew. The kids were real scene stealers an if you are like me, your heart is probably going to melt as you witness some of their interactions with Jack. This was a cute & fun read filled with humor, emotion, romance, heart and a splash of heat. I am electing to post a objective review.

I’m not a mom, but there’s still so much about this book that I can relate to. Especially all the realizations April eventually comes to. I can also completely understand that there’s nothing particularly Zen-like in a divorce, and how it’s particularly difficult to find that kind of center again afterwards. I really loved getting to know these characters. We’d gotten to see glimpses of their lives in the previous books, but here we get up close and personal with April and Jack. When we were first introduced to them, I didn’t believe that they would fit together as well as they do. Jack’s ‘corporate raider’ personality seemed so at odds with April’s rapidly dissolving calm oasis. But as we got to know them and the layers peeled back, it began to make perfect sense to me. I don’t know where this series is going to take me, but I’m buckling in for the ride. I can’t wait to see what’s next. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author through NetGalley.
