The performance of AAC under each of these categories is significantly enhanced, compared to traditional Portland cement. With the recent need for sustainable construction and the increasing number of standards for AAC, it can soon find wider practical usage as a partial or complete substitute for Portland cement.
This book compiles the relevant findings on AAC in the long term to showcase its advantages over traditional Portland cement. Given the uncertainties associated with the chemistry, the challenges, practical recommendations, and future scope of research are also highlighted.
