Finding True North

Excellent book! Being well written with great characters that are well developed mad the story a nice easy read. Paige and Everett are two people who have loved and lost in the past and aren't really looking for anything new. Yet love can find you when you least expect it and it found these two hard and fast. Problem is there is a little white lie between them that could put what they found at risk before it ever really begins. I highly recommend this one.

This is the first book I have read by Audrey Wick. If I am not mistaken, Finding True North, the first in the Texas Sisters Series, may be Audrey's first published novel. It was very interesting and I thought very well written. She does a great job of developing the characters in her story. The small town atmosphere of Sequin, Texas was one many could appreciate. Her main character Paige Frederick is a recently divorced young mom. In the first scene of the book she has just left the court house signing her final divorce papers. Stopping by the local supermarket, she literally runs into an old high school classmate. Everett Mullins is in town for an extended stay to help take care of his aged mom, who is going through some rough chemo treatments. Of course Everett, being the shy guy that he was in high school, had a crush on Paige but never said anything. He was afraid to pursue her since she was a very popular cheerleader. They make a lunch date for the following week and nature or fate takes over from there. Will Everett get his second chance to find love with Paige? I found this to be a nice clean love story that I truly enjoyed reading. I would highly recommend it. I received a copy of this book from Tule Publishers through NetGalley. I really enjoyed reading Finding True North by Audrey Wick, book one in The Texas Sisters series. This is my first book by Ms. Wick, but definitely not my last. This sweet and wonderful story is about two lost souls and a white lie that could destroy a future between them. Paige loves living in her small town, riding her bike nearly everywhere, and working near the courthouse square. After her divorce, she believes she is the focus of the gossip mill as well as her neighbors. The day her divorce is finalized and she gains full custody of her 2-year old son she runs into Everett, a former high school classmate while she is grocery shopping. Everett has temporarily returned to his hometown to help care for his ailing mother and run the family farm. Paige was his high school crush and while talking during their unexpected run in, Paige lied to him. Paige and Everett meet for lunch and text back and forth, building the foundation of a relationship. Once Everett learns of the lie he is unsure that he can trust Paige. As Paige begins a new life, can Everett help her find her direction? I loved seeing the growth Paige and Everett gained from spending time together. They made each other happy, putting smiles on their faces and feeling more satisfied with their lot in life. Everett was a compassionate hero who while living with memories of his late wife was in need of loving and trust from Paige. Paige needed to trust her instincts more and believe she could do it on her own. These two were so perfect for each other, helping each other find their true north. I totally loved reading this book and didn’t want to put this book down. Ms. Wick wrote a wonderful story which drew me in, making me forget the world around me and did not let me go until I turned the last page. I highly recommend this book to other reader and look forward to reading the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
