Paramahansa Yogananda (5 January 1893 – 7 March 1952), or Paramhansa Yogananda, born Mukunda Lal Ghosh , was an Indian monk, yogi and guru who introduced millions of Indians and westerners to the teachings of meditation and Kriya Yoga through his organization Self-Realization Fellowship / Yogoda Satsanga Society of India. He published his book Autobiography of a Yogi in 1946 and it is on the list of the "100 best spiritual books of the 20th Century" created by HarperSan Francisco, a division of HarperCollins Publishers.[2][3] The book has been regularly reprinted and is known as "the book that changed the lives of millions."
