Unfold the page and draw a circle, wide as the moon. Divide it into twelve parts, like a clock, and fill the sectors with every letter of the alphabet.
Now, take a needle. Thread it with red. Always red.
Push the needle through the circle’s heart and whisper three times:
“Guest, come. Guest, come. Guest, come.”
And wait. Because once you’ve spoken the words, something will always answer.
