Tangled Hearts

I absolutely love the second book in Barabara McMahon's the Harts of Texas series! Brianna Hart has been alone for two years now! That's when Jake Morgan stopped taking her calls and quit coming around with no explanation. When her house is broken into, guess who shows up even though he is now a Detective! You guessed it, Jake! Oh, just wait until you find out why he quit coming around! I won't give any spoilers, so just one-click this fantastic book and find out for yourself! If you love some suspense with your romance, then this is definitely a book for you!

A great addition to the "Harts of Texas" series. This is a great second chance romance. I enjoyed Brianna and Jake's story. "Tangled Hearts" by Barbara McMahon is book number two in the "Harts of Texas" series. This is Brianna Hart and Detective Jake Morgan's story. Brianna and Jake dated two years ago. Without any warning or explanation Jake quit calling and wouldn't answer her calls. Brianna was very hurt and has thrown herself into her college teaching job. Jake and Brianna's paths cross again due to a break in at her house. Their paths keep crossing due to the mystery of her break in. The chemistry and attraction between them has seemed to intensify instead lessening. Will they take a chance on love? Will their past prevent them from finding true love and happiness? This story was great! The story included romance, mystery, suspense, and a lot of sexual tension. You could feel the hurt and pain that both Jake and Brianna had encountered in their life. Jake and Brianna were perfect for each other. At times I felt sorry for them and other times I wanted to smack some sense into Jake. The books in this series can be read as a standalone but you will want to go back and read "Rebel Heart" book number one. I look forward to the next book in this series. Love, love, loved it! I thought the first book in this series was good.....but this one was better! There are three books in the series, I have read all three and this one is definitely my favourite! Brianna is a Math Professor, but not a boring stuffy one, we first met her in book one of the series where she delivers some zingy one liners dripping with sarcasm, in this book we continue to see peeps of this feisty, witty, sexy, confident woman but the longer these attacks go on and the more time she spends with Jake the more her confidence is rattled, she questions herself and her judgement more and more. I cried with her, laughed with her and growled in frustration with her as she deals with the Alpha men in her life! Jake, basically what’s not to like? He’s hot and sexy, very growly Alpha, passionate, protective and thought her was doing what was best for Brie when he walked away 2 years before. Yes he frustrates the life out of you repeatedly in this book, but honestly what man doesn’t? There are numerous points where I wasn’t sure if I wanted to kiss him, kill him or jump him! But by the end of the book he had swept me completely off my feet. I was sent an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
