Barbara Zimmermann, am Niederrhein geboren, liebte schon als Kind das Meer. Seit ihrer Heirat wohnt sie an der Ostsee, wo sie mit ihrem Mann mehr als zwanzig Jahre eine Schäferei betrieb. Ideen für neue Geschichten entstehen oft bei Spaziergängen am Meer. Die Idee zu dieser Geschichte nahm ihren Anfang beim Schafe hüten.
