Axle is Book 1 of the War Brother's MC series. It's a spicy, instalove, OTT, opposites-attract, girl gets her biker romance. Axle is a hunky, charming, sexy inked mechanic with a playboy reputation and biker. Elena is a shy, innocent, and somewhat nerdy bookworm who was raised by strict religious parents. The two meet in a dating app as Axle thinks she's cute but too good for him. but Axle is challenged by a mc brother who bets him $1000 that he can't have a relationship with her and the game is on. But real feelings develop. What happens when she finds out about the bet? I had a hard time connecting with these characters. The chemistry was just ok for me. We do end on a happy note, but there is a lot of drama first. Be sure to read the trigger warnings, too, as there are some sensitive topics. 3.5☆s. It all started with a bet. I was sent a free book and am voluntarily leaving this honest review. Elena and Axle Axle is rough around the edges, due to having a bad family life upbringing. Elena is a young woman who feels crushed by the expectations of her parents, and is seeking independence away from her family's control. Elena moves away in order to live independently from her family grasp, she's very shy and reserved, large crowds and social situations give her anxiety and panic attacks. Axle is tired of living for the moment and wants to find someone who can actually see the real him and love him for it. This was a great friends to lovers story. The fact that Axel never pressures Elena the entire time to do anything that she's uncomfortable with is amazing. One of the best lines in the entire book is "I won't have sex with you" and it's never pushed. Yes there's teasing but it goes both ways and it's very sweet.

When Axle takes a bet for dating a girl on a date site, he has no idea that his life is about to change. Meeting Elena had him captivated and all caught up and as they spend time getting to know each other feels grow between them but when she learns the truth will Axle lose out on the best thing that has happened to him. This heartfelt story is well written with a rag tag crew of characters that had me all into this story from start to finish. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout
