Erast Fandorin is like a Russian Inspector Clouseau (without the bumbling incompetence). This story sees him solving murders in the far east and learning Eastern secrets. If you like Akunin's other work then you'll love this. 4/5 only because unlike the others you can't start this one without having read the others.
