An enjoyable read. A decent sci-fi setting that doesn't worry too much about the specifics of technology so much as the social hierarchy, and the flow of war. A bit like a mini Ender's Game, the plot moves somewhat too fast for its own good, and the ending could use some help, but I enjoyed the read nonetheless.

Quite a bit different from Sanderson's regular writing, but also a little familiar. I had issues with the pacing, but overall loved the world building, imagery, and voice.

Dennison being a clone and Varion being a traitor was predictable, but based on the length of the book, the reveal made sense. As always, Brandon does not disappoint

Brandon Sanderson grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. He lives in Utah with his wife and children and teaches creative writing at Brigham Young University.
