About this ebook

There's no peace or love in a marriage when the husband disappears, and PI Mike Shayne must brave Miami's hippie counterculture to find him.

Henry De Rham married for money, but the lure of free love and psychedelic drugs might have proven too hard to resist. Did he drop out or drop dead? A family friend of his emotionally unstable wife turns to Mike Shayne for help, especially since her money seems to be steadily dwindling.

De Rham, his wife, and his former classmate came to Miami from New York on a luxury yacht, but their pit stop in Florida leads to the firing of their captain, drunken fights, and De Rham's disembarkation. It's no secret that his marriage was dysfunctional at best, with his heiress wife's will always in play. Shayne finds the frustrated beatnik easier than he expected in Miami's growing hippie community, but tracking the missing money pulls him into a violent clash of cultures and couples, and the twisted games they play . . .
