The MC completely shifts from what he was like in the first few volumes. Well before we had a nicely paced character driven story here there's none of that. This feels like a fanfic instead of the original our MC turns from a nice compassionate guy to a slave owner. And no him "treating them nicely" doesn't make it better, he basically just keeps them fed, somewhat entertained but for the most part he just treats them like pets. He finds out one of his slaves is a friend of Brods, yet instead of freeing him he just keeps him as a slave. The guy clearly wants to get out there to adventure and get his power back, but our great MC decides he doesn't want to be someone who gives "his servents all they want". Thats not even mentioning how the first city he goes to with slaves he ends up finding the best most OP slaves imaginable. Plus Substance X is genuinely just used for everything now. It's gotten awful. I definitely don't recommend this.

First two books in series was incredible. However, MC character growth has stagnated in the last two novels. I thought new town would be better, but it isn't so. Hopefully author takes a jump forward with MC / guys team soon. Some great new characters that just didn't pop out of the pages. Do we really need two S-ranked teachers then why? The second dungeon was an afterthought at best. Author didn't invest in it so I didn't either. Too many previous characters withering on the vine too... Looking at improvements in guild girls, Monica and Nanaella relationship with MC. BTW, they are definitely in need of some cute nick names from the MC ASAP! Unfortunately, that relationship has been put on hold more than when he was guzzling the brew, that indirectly leads to impotence! The author is generating more impotence than the infamous substance X is! Really miss / need more Lumina time too! The whole development of the guys vs girls team has envaporated just when it was getting good. The training time with Brod with guys team was practically ignored too. Guys team needs to pop more or they are never going to catch up with the girls!

Slave ownership is weird and not really something I want to read about. Not sure if the author is smart or using it ASAP crutch, but they're really getting their money's worth of using Substance X.
