About this ebook

Where does the Christian find refuge? Where does he go for strength, for cleansing, for holiness? The answer is not found in self-reliance, nor in empty religious forms, but in the shadow of the mercy seat—under the covering of Christ’s atoning blood, at the very throne of grace.

In "Holiness Under the Mercy Seat," theologian and minister C. Matthew McMahon brings a weighty and convicting exploration of the Christian’s call to holiness, firmly rooted in Scripture. With Psalm 61:4 as the foundation—”I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings”—McMahon unfolds the rich biblical doctrine of God’s protection and grace in Christ, showing how true holiness is the inevitable fruit of being set under the mercy seat.

Drawing deeply from passages such as Hebrews 9:14—”How much more shall the blood of Christ… purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”—this work presses upon the reader the necessity of living a sanctified life, not as a burden, but as the joyful privilege of every believer. Holiness is not an abstract ideal but the natural response of a heart transformed by grace.

This book does not offer shallow comforts or casual Christianity. It is a call to live before God in reverence, to come boldly to the throne of grace, and to walk in the righteousness that Christ has secured for His people. It is an invitation to abide in the presence of God—to dwell in the holiest place of all, under the shadow of His wings.
