Carlos Aponte, the illustrator and writer of the children's book "Precious", reveals his deep love for Puerto Rico, its people and culture. His exuberant art captures the spirit and beauty of "La Isla del Encanto" and the resiliency of its community. A very moving story--a love story if you will--and simple lessons to take with you through life.
About the author
Carlos Aponte received a Pura Belpré Honor for Across the Bay and wrote and illustrated A Season to Bee. Carlos is a faculty member at the Fashion Institute of Technology. He lives in Jersey City, New Jersey.
