Charles Hodge (1797-1878) was a leading Presbyterian theologian and principal of Princeton Theological Seminary between 1851 and 1878. He was a prolific writer, publishing numerous biblical commentaries, articles, and essays in addition to his magnum opus, Systematic Theology. Hodge played a key role in shaping the theological identity of American Presbyterianism and evangelical Christianity more broadly.
