About this ebook

My Only One, Book One of the Fortunato Family series, is a friends to lovers, romantic suspense that’s chock full of feels.

Esme:

We grew up in side by side New York City tenements. Shane was my first friend, my first crush, and when he enlisted, my unforgettable heartbreak. When fate brings us back together after ten years, I’m in a world of danger. But I’m not a kid anymore and I know what I want. Shane and I have a second chance at forever and there’s no way I’ll lose him again.

Shane:

Brilliant, beautiful, bound for success, Esme was the girl next door and a temptation I had to resist. I was too old for her, but I couldn’t forget her. When we meet again after ten long years, she’s caught in the crosshairs of a deadly drug kingpin. But I wear a badge now. Nothing will stop me from protecting the woman who claimed me—heart and soul—so long ago. I’ll keep Esme safe or die trying.

Time’s running out for Esme to pay her father’s debt to the cartel.

I loved this story about Esme getting to reunite with the Fortunato family, although it was only by luck or fate, if you will, after Shane sees her barefoot and injured on the street. Why is Esme running and more importantly who is she running from? No spoilers, so grab your copy and see what happens. I will say I loved how Esme never forgot her first love, even though she never thought they’ll be together. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is book one in The Fortunato Family Series and it is Esme and Shane's story and omg it is a must read and a great start to a new series. What does Esme do when her father is in so much debt that he asks her to meet a friend of his not knowing that she is the debt and when she realised what her father had done and had in mind for Esme she does the only thing that she can and that is run far enough from the danger that is following them to survive. Shane couldn't believe that Esme was right in front of him after all these years but the state that she was in and how frightened she looked he needed to find out what had happened and how he could help her especially as he was a cop. When Esme told Shane what had happened he couldn't believe that her father would do anything like this to his own daughter and also Shane was on high alert as the man involved with Esme was Reinaldo Rojas a bit drugs Lord in Colombia and the police had been trying to find and capture him for years but will Shane be able to arrest him and keep Esme safe as well only time will tell. I couldn't put this book down as it was so addictive and a real page turner that kept you on the edge of your seat wondering what the outcome would be for Esme and Shane and would they have a future together. Charlotte O'Shay is an amazing author and writer and you really need to read this book and others by her and you will definitely not be as and I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
