Must read book 1 before reading this one. This one starts where book 1 left off. What a ride. This one did go by pretty fast but I still enjoyed it. Leon forces Violet into marriage for revenge but the more they are together secrets start to unveil. Love the suspense and couldn't wait to get to the end. This one was also a scorcher. Look forward to more from Charmaine. I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Imperfect Affections by Charmaine Pauls is full of steam, suspense and strong characters. Violet and Leon's enemies to lovers romance will capture your heart. Leon is more towards antihero side in this story. His past makes it hard to trust people and open up. And Violet's betrayal hit him badly. So he was acting in a ruthless way. But I loved that the author did not drag the drama or revealing the secret about Violet's true motives. That kept the drama and suspense interesting. And after the disclosure you get to see the alpha possessive protective side of Leon. Violet is a very admirable and powerful character. She fought for independence and respect all her life. Fighting against degradation for her physical disadvantage. Fighting against her controlling evil stepfather. Fighting for her mother and their freedom. She is fierce but Leon's initial callousness and rudeness broke her too. The emotions were raw and angsty. You can easily and deeply feel all their emotions. (ARC review)

A perfect bittersweet ending to the Diamond Magnate world! Ian and Violet’s story is fabulously a push and pull emotional trip that will keep you pulled in until the very last page. Their ending wraps up this all consuming world and I am sad to see it come to an end. Can’t wait to see what Charmaine Pauls brings us next!!!
