Es geht um Kämpfe des Alltags; manchmal komisch-banal scheinend, dann wieder sehr dramatische und existentielle, kaum in Worte fassbare. Es wird die Geschichte von Hannah und Charly, die bereits im "Drachentöter" erscheinen nochmals aufgegriffen, von anderer Seite beleuchtet. Der Puppenspieler tritt erstmals deutlicher hervor. Doch bleibt es nicht bei ihm. Unterschiedliche Themen werden aufgegriffen und aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven gedeutet. Eine Vielzahl von Geschichten ranken sich um Hannah, Jakob und Charly. Ähnlichkeiten mit noch lebenden, bereits verstorbenen, oder zum Zeitpunkt der Herausgabe dieser Geschichten noch nicht geborenen Personen sind (wie in allen guten Geschichten) rein zufällig.
