When fire, flood or other natural disasters wiped out an ecosystem, Madison was the first to volunteer to venture however far and to whatever ends necessary to restore the system and nurse it back to health. But when years of neglect and abuse have been responsible for the degradation of an ecosystem she found herself hiding at the back of the line. It wasn't that she didn't care about those particular parcels of land or felt them any less worthy of her efforts. But rather, when people have been responsible for ruining something, it was her experience that they seldom got on board with making things right. In fact, they generally tended to fight her every step of the way.
