The Nilgai or Blue bull Boselaphus tragocamelus, an Asia's largest antelope is indigenous to the Indian subcontinent and possess the same divine value as cattle amid Hindus (belongs to subfamily Bovinae). Its zoological name, Boselaphus tragocamelus has been derived from four words, namely Bos (Latin for ox), elaphos (Greek for deer), tragos (Greek for male goat) and Kamelos (Greek for camel). It is classified as ‘Bovid’ belongs to family Bovidae among ungulate species.
