Once again DR Grady has created a book that keeps me guessing and is unique in its kind. I would not recommend reading this book without the book that comes before it, simply because the world of ocean shifters and oceanic shift created in that book and it will make this one make more sense. This book contains consistent references to book 1 that I think would be confusing without the background knowledge. This is a creative story, however, and I enjoyed getting lost in the world of shifters and crime fighting. I received a complimentary early copy of this book, this is my voluntary review.
