I was very disappointed in this book. I have read numerous books from this author and have enjoyed them. This story was confusing and I had even read the prequel! I felt the prequel should have been the actual beginning of this story to help clarify Sophie's back story and identity some of the characters. I was shocked when it was mentioned in only one sentence, very nonchalantly, that James had died and then nothing else about his death till several chapters later. I had to go back to reread the previous paragraphs to see if I had missed something. I also thought it was strange Sophie did not go to the police about the threatening letters she received. But later, the sheriff was mentioned as if he had been involved. And I was really confused on how James had in his ledgers proof of Angela's financial schemes with others. Then Nate pop up out of nowhere as if he had been a main character all along. These are just a few examples of my confusion. The other inconsistencies items were her
